Aw, thanks. You totally made my day.

I was working with a group of immigrants several years ago and folks had difficulty with the "th" and "er" sounds in my (our) name. And so Hedra was born. It's nice to know there's another one out there. :)

in my case, my sister gave me the nickname, but again it was working with a language difference. My sister was at the time taking Spanish, and she nicknamed me 'hedracita' (essentially 'little precious heather'), which then was shortened to hedra. But the language use of the sounds was part of the reason for the hedra conversion.
