Sometimes I wish I was sick first (rather than the kids bringing it home, them first), so I would have the proper sympathy for the symptoms the kids have.
I admit I wasn't super sympathetic to the draggy not-eating sick kids. Sympathetic, yes, but not totally 'oh you poor thing, let me bring you cold cloths and beef broth' on them.
Then I got it. WHOA-nelly, that was a doozy. Just like them, I got one day of wiped out tired, one day with some puking and a lot of nausea, and one day of exhausted and unable to eat. Like, I spent all day and all night asleep, with short periods of being vertical for an hour or two.
Now, they were definitely much more energetic than I was. But I forgot that the distance between normal and sick behavior is measured by the distance, not the parallel to my own behavior. That is, they're normally 100x more energetic than I am, so if they're kinda sorta draggy, that's WAY down from normal. I can't equate their draggy with my draggy - their draggy is about equal to my normal!
Ah, well, sometimes a reminder is good.
Only, I'd rather have the reminder in verbal form than viral form.
At least ep only got the light version, like Mr G did. I got the full nasties, the way the other three did.
Life with kids, no?
